HEY! LISTEN: Larry Allen Brown — “The Devil’s Bed”

Born and raised in Chicago, Larry attended High School with John Prine, and has had a long career as lead guitarist for a variety of groups. Heavily influenced by Dave Van Ronk, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Townes Van Zandt, Larry embarked upon a solo career as a composer and performer on the acoustic guitar in 2000.

After many explorations in instrumental music, Brown’s turned his attention to vocals as a singer/songwriter. The Brattleboro, VT-based guitarist serves up some hard-earned wisdom in “The Devil’s Bed.” It’s an earthy jeremiad that is tempered with a beautiful fiddle line and driving drumbeat.

Brown is no stranger to political rhetoric. He is also the author of “Political Logic” published by Decent Hill, and “Growing up White in Racist America” published by Amazon.com. “The Devil’s Bed” hearkens back to a time when folk music changed the world — and reminds us it still can.
